Frequently Asked Questions
Is CalmMist Carry a humidifier or an essential-oil diffuser?
It's a humidifier first. Water alone is all it needs to run - no oils are needed for humidification.
How long does one full tank last?
Runtime depends on the mist level. We'll publish tested figures for each level once they're confirmed on the final production unit.
How do I know the room is humid enough?
A simple humidity gauge is the easiest way to keep an eye on the room. Adjust the mist level on the lid as needed.
What humidity should I maintain in the nursery?
General guidance recommends keeping indoor relative humidity around 30-50%, and generally below 60%. A separate gauge helps you track this.
How do I keep it clean?
Empty and wipe the tank daily - standing water can support the growth of microorganisms. Refill with the water type specified in your manual; distilled or low-mineral water helps reduce buildup and white dust. Replace the cotton wicks under the lid when they discolor or the mist weakens. Unplug before deep-cleaning, remove any visible scale or film, and let the tank air-dry fully before storing.
Can I use essential oils around my baby?
Use conservatively and only as directed for your exact model. Concentrated oils should be kept out of reach, and any fragrance use around children should follow the oil manufacturer's age guidance in a ventilated space.
How large a room does it cover?
Coverage depends on room conditions. We publish a tested figure, including the conditions it was tested under, rather than an unverified range.
Where should I put it?
On a stable, level, water-resistant surface out of your baby's reach, with the cord secured and the mist outlet pointing into open space rather than at the cot, the bedding, a wall, or electronics.
What if the room starts feeling damp?
Turn the output down or switch it off. Condensation on windows, walls, or bedding means the room has had enough. Running a humidifier harder than the room needs is the one way to get it wrong.
Will it help with a cold or a cough?
CalmMist Carry adds moisture to dry room air, which many parents find makes a nursery more comfortable. It isn't a medical device, and it doesn't diagnose, treat, or prevent colds, allergies, or breathing conditions.
A calmer nursery, from bedtime to morning.
A big top-fill tank, three mist levels, a soft glow, and a strap that takes it room to room. Try it risk-free for 30 nights.
